In which Possum recounts his experiences as an offender in the system.

Possum Bones is autistic. He has identified as a dirty kid in the past, and he’s attended multiple rainbow gatherings. He has several years left to serve in the Washington Correctional system.

He has been making art since he could sit up. He communicates better in writing than speech. Glossary, pt 2

Shotcaller - An inmate who makes important decisions for other people implied affiliation with criminal groups, see car .

Smiley - A chain with locks, knives, etc attached to be used as a flail. The favored weapon of freight rider.

Snapcase - Someone with poor impulse control, esp. in relation to aggressive behavior.

Spange - Portmanteau of spare and change . To panhandle.

Spread - Verb, noun. To make food for/with at least two individuals.

Spunion - Someone permanently spun. Similar to smoked out . A person who is spun on every level, like the layers of an onion.

Road Dog - Someone you travel with. A lifelong bond.

Rosa Parks - Command to dogs to go to the back seat

Schwilly - Alcoholic. Drunk.

Six-up - Rainbow gathering term signifying incoming police.

Smoked out - Describes someone who has done so much drugs, the speaker believes they are mentally impaired. Also smoker, as a noun.

Swopper-dopper - any awesome thing that makes life easier or can be used to do something cool. Physical object.

Struck out - Having life due to the egregious third strike law

Suckerfish - Cool way of saying Sucka' Turnt Out - Convinced to join the other side, to try something one ostensibly doesn't like. Usually refers to gay sex.

Take off - To assault. Initiate violence. " Take off on ".

The Hoop - Natives , as a group.

Walla-Walla Wallet Weirdo - In prison, invariably refers to sex offenders.

White boy - An individual who is affiliated with white racial groups

Yelling is Telling - Proverb illustrating that shouting about behavior not sanctioned by institutional policy is tantamount to informing on said behavior . Also, dont shout about it be about it , admonishing the behavior of someone who is loud and aggressive while not actually following through with those threats.

Yoked Out - Exhausted and sore from weight training also implies that the person is now weak so this is a dangerous time should someone wish to do them physical harm.
