Glossary of Institutional and Transient Subcultural Terms, V1.5 Blown Out - Used up. Often conjuring the image of a butthole, but not always referring to a butthole. Blow Up The Spot - On the street, to ruin an area by having too many comers. For example, having too many people panhandling in a short stretch of the block. Booty man - An older man in prison who's entire existence centers around trying to get into other men's arseholes, who has a lot of experience talking his way in. Bubba - A term denoting utmost respect and friendship. Butthole Beach - A yard that is full of men on dates with eachother and/or men trying to perv on other men. Bliss rail - In the woods, a table made from sticks where the bliss are placed, meaning cups and bowls for public use Brother bear - Any male member of the rainbow family Burnt - "You're burnt", you aren't getting your money back, or are taking some kind of loss for sure Bullet - See " snapcase ". Someone who is quick to anger. Can mean missile. Car - Loose criminal social group, usually racially based. Cell in - Go into your cell and don't come out. Cell warrior - Someone who is very militant about rules in the cell who is hard to live with , and/or who acts hard in the cell but is really 'not about nothin' ' Cooked - Its over. " dead to rights " , often meaning the person described as being cooked either will get life, or will be old when they get out. Indicates a certainty of a bad outcome. Worse than burnt. Custied - Treated like a customer as opposed to a friend or respected business partner, and charged significantly more than the wholesale cost of the goods. Cracked - Cracked or cracked off, meaning busted or penalized Coo-coo for cocoa puffs - Crazy. Off the deep end. Ding Biscuit - Pills crazy people take that make them complacent, or that depressed people take to kill their mind and sleep through the years. Dick-in-the-dirt - " That shit put my dick in the dirt ". The speaker was wholly satisfied with the described goods or services (* Slutty eyeroll *) Dry Snitching - To inform on criminal behavior by talking loudly about it or spreading it as a rumor , with the intention of harming someone by using the cops against them Eppi - A medical or mental health event,usually triggered by substance abuse. Fifi- An improvised marital aid , for penetration with the penis usually crafted from a bottle, a sock, and some foam. Depending on ones size- some people use a cardboard tube, your narrator uses a vitamin water bottle. Folsom Knot - A sock filled with something hard ( rocks, etc ) for use as an ad hoc cosh. House Mouse - You and I. Someone who stays in the cell a lot. Homebum - A bum that doesn't travel any dirty kid who's been in the same city for more than a week or two. Information Porter - Synonym for a canary. Jailhouse thief - The lowest. An inmate who steals from other inmates by stealth rather than violence. Upsets the social order. This person makes it so we have to always watch our things. Kickdown - a donation Legal beagle - An inmate who knows the law well enough to fight back in the legal sphere. Little Buddy - Platonic descriptor implying that the person described, though being of lower social status or less imposing mien, is vouched for and/or under the wing of the speaker. Lovin' you/Huffin' glue - Dirty kid callback to hippies. Mad doser, the - The mad Doser has the bible and indiscriminately preaches The Word . Nomesayin' ? Mama - Term used by hippies, referring any adult female regardless of whether they have "born fruit". Mainline - The food doc gives you. " Not being able to walk mainline " means youve been warned not to go by threatening people. Usually this is if youre a snitch or a really bad rapist. Miracle - Hippy term for a much needed gift like a ticket to the show or a large monetary gift from a stranger Missile - Someone who runs up in someones house on the order of a shot caller. Molly-whopp - To roundly trounce or defeat. Can refer to anything. Okie-doke - To trick someone, or haggle them in your favor to get someone to agree to an unfair deal through wit rather than intimidation. On the set - I think this means either cool , but it doesnt make any sense why. A set in cards ? To lose in pinochle is to be "set". On Everything - Short for on everything I love , an assurance of veracity or fair dealings. Peace in - To knock someone out. Pocket dragon - hippy term for a lighter Poppin' - Lit. Often referring to the availability of contraband in an institutional area. Pod boss - The person or one of the persons with the highest clout and influence over the most people in a pod. Largely a myth, the cops always think someone is a pod boss, but its usually not true. Power - Strong, potent. Punk - A catamite. Implies extreme disrespect and willingness to engage in violence with the described individual. In practice, describes a rude, disrespectful, deceitful person. PREA - Federal act meant to prevent sexual violence. In the parlance, used as a verb. " Did you get prea'd by your celly ! " , or as an exclamation , like when your friend gets too close you might jocosely shout " Prea !!! ". Rack back - In the county jail closed custody, the command from the cops to return to your cell. Rubbertramp - A traveling kid who lives and travels in an automobile. Safety - Cannabis. Also " safety meeting ", to gather for the purpose of cannabis spp. pyrolysis. Satellite - Rainbow term meaning to deliver or bring over goods ( food, tobacco ) Skin that - A type of oath , to swear by ones skin color see white boys. Also can refer to the use of racial privilege to serve ones ends, or an assurance of affiliation , I skin that .
