Kare Kano : his and her circumstances
Did you just buy it at random then !? Its pretty good, but I'm not reading this for fun, its meant to be a study. I should be reading " classic " shojo ... which this probably is, but . Maybe I don't know if we need to read this one specifically. For fun, maybe. I would say I was able to glean at least a little of what I needed which was to learn about scripting peoples relationships. I guess what I learned was something like ... people have pretty extreme inner thoughts and their insecurities and obsessions dominate their behavior ... I don't know how the author would have written this without some experiential analogue in their own life to the story, though. I cant even understand my own feelings enough to script them in this way in a story and thereby use my experience to do the same. Maybe I can't write a romance comic. Not my exact goal, but romance and suspense are actually both crucial story types and I believe experience writing a few of those will really , really enhance a persons ability to tell another type of story. Togashi used to write romance manga, Ito began with gag manga. What does that tell us about what it takes to be great at telling a certain kind of story ? Ito took those gag elements and brought them to the horror genre in a way that makes his manga unique , distinct even from his clear influences. Because of his romance stories , Togashis male heroes have dark , passionate eyes and inner lives ... even though its a fight manga.
