GMing is not like writing

Learned today ... when you are GM at the table . You might have been taught or assumed that it’s a good idea to talk like in writing . GMing is not like writing. Do not go out of your way to use words that sound good as if they were written for the page. It won’t sound natural. This is speech. The right words for speech are different from writing. Portray the world, but don't try to use fancy words. Focus on visualizing the scene and describe that scene in terms that are easy to understand.
