Pink Pony Club

Im aware this song is a cover. I like the tragic lilt in Chapell Roan's voice in this song. To me it sounds like she's not only singing about her family being shocked about her dancing or working nightly in a gay club. That's cool, but the Pink Pony Club in the song ( Besides reminding us of the glorious Pinkie Pie and making this a brony anthem ) represents vice in general. Just being gay isn't a vice-ya know ? But in the song its sung as if the singer feels a sense of guilt. The song is about a character who is consciously choosing a life of vice because they feel it is the right life for them. This life of vice is the only way for them, they were born for it. The succor of that vice is tinged with a sense of tragedy, because there is no way out for her. You can hear in her voice when she says " I'm gonna keep on dancin' " ... that she means, I'm going to keep doing what I do despite being conscious of the consequences, because that's what's just going to happen. There's no other way for the character in the song to be, so they're happy but also kind of sad in this admission.
