blablabla Silmarillion
The best mythos-es always come from a place of extrapolation . Like, someone makes a story and then when they or other people are forced by the exigency of some other creative project to fill in blanks - blanks which were never planned to be filled at the time the original story was envisioned ... That's how the most MYTHOSY mythos-es are formed. Historically, setting out to try and create a world from the beginning doesn't achieve the same result. Worlds which were created by design and not by " Uh, I guess then this is what might happen " " Uh i guess the Jedi used to have silly cords attached to their laser swords " " uh i guess the mi-go are trying to keep the old ones from dominating the solar system " " uh ... fuck I guess call it greyhawk " ... are more fertile for spontaneous fiction , " pastiche " , than worlds created as is ( No, you can't say that happened because blablabla silmarillion ) .
